Were there any friendly fire incidents involving American submarines, aircraft carriers, or battleships during World War II or World War I?

USS Pompano was mistakenly bombed by aircraft from USS Enterprise but managed to escape.

USS Tang pictured above, was an ace US submarine… until she literally sank herself with a circular running torpedo.
